Using tallow, lard, emu oil and lanolin. For a luxurious and moisturizing soap, I used home made kefir, Greek yogurt and goats milk. Calendula added for calm sensitive skin.
Tallow resembles the oil produced by the glands of our skin, so tallow does not clog pores and it is good for ultra sensitive skin. Lard or tallow is one of the ingredients of a commercial soap for sensitive skin. Emu oil comes from the emu bird and its oil has the ability to penetrate skin and tissue, bringing with it wound healing, is anti inflammatory, very moisturizing as it has omega's, and helps with eczema and psoriasis. Lanolin is oil from the sheep and is an occlusive moisturizer which is good in locking in moisture and repairing dry, cracked, flaky skin.
Kefir and yogurt brings probiotics, omegas and moisturizing properties to the table. Yogurt and milk is also rich in lactic acid, which also serves as a very gentle exfoliant for sensitive, or dry skin to bring out a softer, lovelier skin. This is a fragrance free soap.
